Global Learning Xprize judge.
There are over 250 million children that are not able to attend schools to learn basic literacy and numeracy skills. The purpose of this prize is to see if children in remote areas with no access to school can teach themselves basic literacy and numeracy skills using tablets with pre-loaded apps specifically create for this purpose.
I am honoured to play a role in this amazing research initiatives as one of 11 global judges. This initiative has been in development for several years and at this point the 5 finalist apps are being field tested in Africa. We are excited to see if these apps can make a significant change in developing literacy in these remote areas.
